Pressure requirements are normally based on cleaning requirements. In most general purpose cleaning 1200 PSI to 1500 PSI is more than adequate. For heavy duty cleaning such as trucks and heavy equipment, 2000 PSI is often required. In some specialized applications such as paint removal or stain cleaning, pressures of up to 3000 PSI or more are often used. Pressures that tend to exceed 3000 PSI can be damaging to surfaces and present special safety concerns for persons operating such equipment.
